Within the framework of the 24th Milan Triennial International Exhibition “Inequalities,” the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies and CRAFT, Politecnico di Milano propose a collective reading and narrative on inequalities from a territorial perspective, through a contribution structured in three thematic lunges:
- the different impact of extreme weather phenomena and prolonged exposure to health-damaging conditions
- the different opportunities for access to resources and limitations to mobility
- the lack of full citizenship rights due to processes of exclusion from housing and services
The three issues addressed by the DAStU working group are represented at two different scales and with two different types of materials. On the one hand, an immersive installation in three short films with testimonies from international experts takes stock of environmental, mobility/migration, and access to housing and services issues at the global scale.
On the other, a model of the Milan area accompanied by the projection of maps and data shows how the same issues are declined in this metropolitan context.
