IFe Research-Lab is the research component set up to support the newly-established IFe Civic-Lab, a territorial laboratory launched in 2023 after several university-territory collaborations (from 2020). Both local actors, who are members of the Lab and refer to very different organisations (around 10), and researchers belonging to DAStU, who have collaborated with CALL and maudlab, are part of the Lab. The project responds to the need to activate a critical and self-critical reflection on the neighbourhoods of Municipality 9 and on the social and cultural innovation that active subjects produce, focusing on marginality and environmental quality. The approach of constructing shared knowledge, also in relation to groups traditionally excluded from the processes of interaction, which IFe pursues, is articulated in a series of objectives: to identify urgent themes for the area of reference by promoting opportunities for deliberation and participation, to produce novel representations, to propose pilot projects and experiments, to scale up innovative projects by bringing them to the attention of institutions through the support of private entities, and to benefit from the exchange with similar international communities.
