Through a transcalar and multidisciplinary approach, the pilot project aims to deepen the activities foreseen for Regione Lombardia and Polis Lombardia within the EUSALP research (the literature analysis; the collection of specific digital databases; the analysis of strategies, devices, actors and territorial resources; the activities of listening and activation of actors and territories) in relation to the specificities of the mountain area of Valtellina (productive and landscape excellences, phenomena of over-tourism and abandonment, climate change). In particular, in the perspective of the Center's antifragility, the pilot project aims to critically verify the physical-territorial potential of the ecological and digital transition strategies promoted by the recovery plans and cohesion policies (European, national, regional) through an initial setup and subsequent elaboration of cross-cutting project simulations of landscape regeneration aimed at integrating: (i) the productive and fruitive dimension, crossing economic innovation and tourism diversification objectives; (ii) the material and immaterial dimension, coordinating spatial resources and digital services.
The pilot project aims to identify strategic areas and lines of action for the development of innovation ecosystems, considering three components: (i) the processes through which territories, universities and businesses cooperate; (ii) the products of the main economic, educational and scientific supply chains; and (iii) the spatial dimension of territorial regeneration. In this framework and within the composite framework of territorial planning and policies, the pilot project aims to spatialize project potentialities for increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of the mountain territory of Valtellina in relation both to emerging objectives in the European and national context and to instances expressed by local communities.
